Stress costs US over $300 Billion a year

migraine

Stress creates dangerous toxins that are poisoning Americans on a daily basis. Stress is listed as a significant factor in every chronic disease that is suffered by mankind. Yet stress is as much a part of life as the air we breathe and the food we eat. There is no way to avoid stress. Each of us experiences stress according to our own constitution. A situation can be extremely irritating one day. Then the next day the same set of circumstances can make that person laugh. Two different people can witness the same event causing fear and trembling in one person. Yet the person standing next to them will consider that event to be a natural and normal occurance.

So how can a person avoid the dangerous effects of stress? Although each of us is unique, how one typically responds to stress takes well defined patterns. Over thousands of years and billions of treatments, these distinct patterns continue to be mapped and evaluated with the sole intention of helping people to live healthier lives. Licensed acupuncturists apply a medical system that was designed to stop the stress patterns that lead to disease.

Acupuncture is a safe and reliable practice that effectively relieves stress without drugs. Scientific evidences shows that acupuncture treatment releases natural chemicals in the body called endorphins and encephalins. These chemicals are the body’s natural stress relievers and pain killers. They also work to decrease the level of cortisol, the stress hormone. The fastest and easiest way to attain and maintain good health is to relieve stress. This empowers a person to summon natural healing energy that flows through the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of health.

Acupuncture treatment with and without needles.

Enrico Viselli, LAc provides acupuncture treatment with and without needles.  Even in ancient times other methods were developed to stimulate points for patients who were too sensitive to be needled.  Heat and massage were used in such cases. In my practice, heat and massage are still used together and with other methods that stimulate the points gently and effectively. Some of these methods include light from a cold laser, the vibration and sound from tuning forks, aromatherapy oils, magnets and crystals. I also employ CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT). CST and LDT are gentle systems of bodywork that require a delicate touch. As such these choices are excellent when treating patients who have been suffering long term debilitating illness and for children who may be too sensitive for stronger methods of treatment.

These methods of treatment are efffective when strong pressure is unnecessay or could be harmful. CST is shown to be effective in the treatment of ADD, ADHD, chronic pain and headache. LDT cleans the lymphatic system working to relieve swelling and inflamation while revitalizing the immune system. These soothing techniques relieve stress and activate the body’s natural capacity to heal. My drug free treatment is reliable and safe for patients of all ages.

Compassionate, Free Help for Veterans with PTSD

soldierYou’ve seen the strained look on her face.  She’s far away.  She doesn’t sleep well and sits around all day doing nothing.  She’s always tired.  You’ve invited her to the things she loves doing, but she never feels like doing them anymore.  Sometimes she yells a lot—really overreacts.  But when you ask her what’s wrong, she denies any problems.

You’re happy she is back from Iraq, but you thought it would be different.  You thought you could get back to normal.

You thought that having her home safe would make both of you happy again.  She’s not at war anymore—why is she acting this way?

Your loved one may have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Many veterans suffer from PTSD.  The Veterans Administration (VA) reports that as many as 11-20% of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars have it.  Common war traumas include having been shot at, having seen someone shot or having seen death, but another cause of PTSD in veterans is military sexual trauma (MST).  According to the VA, 23% of women in the military report sexual assault.

These numbers are scary but the good news is that there is help.  There are even free clinics that provide acupuncture. continue reading »
